In the summer of 2023, I worked as the co-head of electrics at the Utah Festival Opera! This meant many things, including leading the 6pm-12am shift of the daily lighting install and eventually lead some of focus in May and June, creating practicals/LED tape/pixel tape for use in each of the shows, devising a method of organizing gels/gobos for the season and many other tasks both small and large that fell under the umbrellas of management and hands-on electrician work. Once the shows opened in July, I also led each day's lighting changeovers and ensured that the lighting rig stayed true to the designer's vision, fixing any lighting fixtures knocked out of focus or other various notes. In August, one of the other co-heads (Sage Wuertzer) and I fronted the lighting strike, creating an extensive list of what we needed to do to and how to organize everything to ensure that next year's team would have a smooth entry into the company's spaces.
